Unveiling Hideaway Beach: Your Exclusive Adult Only Beach Escape at Perfect Day, CocoCay featuring in-water hammocks, cabanas and more
In my travel blog, let's dive into the exciting new addition to Perfect Day at CocoCay, the Hideaway Beach, tucked away on the western side of the island behind the thrilling Thrill Waterpark.
After keeping it a well-guarded secret for months, Royal Caribbean has finally unveiled details about this hidden gem on its Cruise Planner site. Michael Bayley, the President and CEO of Royal Caribbean International, is enthusiastic about this expansion, describing Hideaway Beach as a unique way to experience Perfect Day at CocoCay. It's a place tailored for adults seeking an exclusive and relaxing day of their own.
With a capacity to accommodate between 1,500 and 2,000 guests, Hideaway Beach is set to open in January 2024, coinciding with the launch of the Icon of the Seas cruise ship.
Pricing and Inclusions
Now, let's talk pricing and what's included. Like many of Royal Caribbean's premium offerings, Hideaway Beach comes with variable pricing. However, there's a catch – it's exclusively for guests aged 18 and above. For the inaugural Icon of the Seas sailing, access to Hideaway Beach will cost $70.99 when pre-purchased, and $79.00 onboard. The pricing varies for different sailings:
- Icon of the Seas (February 24, 2024): $52.99 per person ($59 onboard).
- Wonder of the Seas (March 17, 2024): $43.99 per person ($49 onboard).
- Icon of the Seas (June 29, 2024): $79.99 per person ($89 onboard).
- Utopia of the Seas (July 22, 2024): $70.99 per person ($79 onboard).
In addition to admission, you can also opt for cabanas, which include entry to the area. The pricing strategy here seems to mirror that of the nearby Coco Beach Club, which also charges an admission fee.
Once inside Hideaway Beach, guests will discover a large temperature-controlled freshwater pool, a semi-circle beach, and an exclusive cabana area. Complimentary in-water hammocks, resort-style loungers, and shaded umbrellas await you. A DJ sets the mood for a party vibe. There are seven bars, including the al fresco "On The Rocks" bar along the rocky shore, offering live music, sports on TV, games, and stunning ocean views.
You can swim up to the Hideaway Bar at the pool, which has two levels, so you can enjoy your drinks poolside or in the water. For food lovers, there's the "Slice of Paradise," a rustic pizza haven with a bar serving fresh-from-the-oven pizzas, and the "Snack Shack," offering a popular menu of complimentary chicken sandwiches, burgers, mozzarella sticks, salads, and more. It also provides shaded seating and Adirondack chairs right on the sand.
Now, let's talk about the cabanas. There are two types available. The "Hideout Cabanas," located in an area called "The Hideout," can accommodate up to 8 guests. If you have a larger party, there's a charge of $50 per person, along with an additional cost for a Hideaway Beach Full Day Pass for a maximum of 2 extra people. These cabanas offer in-water loungers, outdoor showers, Bluetooth speakers, floating beach mats, resort-style seating, a cooler, sink, mini fridge, charging outlets, ceiling fans, and private lockable storage. You'll also have access to the exclusive infinity plunge pool for Hideout guests and can enjoy bottle service along with complimentary food from the Snack Shack or Slice of Paradise.
For a slightly lower price, you can go for the "Hideaway Cabana," which doesn't grant access to The Hideout plunge pool. However, it does include entry to Hideaway Beach for up to 8 adults, with the same additional costs for extra people. Your Hideaway Cabana provides unlimited bottled water, private lockable storage, a sink, mini fridge, cooler, ceiling fan, charging outlets, resort-style seating, and floating beach mats. Just like the Hideout Cabanas, you can indulge in bottle service and complimentary food from the Snack Shack or Slice of Paradise.
The Hideout, nestled at one end of Hideaway Beach, offers an exclusive and elevated experience. In one of the 10 Hideout Cabanas, you can relax at a heated infinity-edge plunge pool, exclusive to The Hideout guests. Enjoy the convenience of cabana attendant service, in-water loungers, an outdoor shower, and resort-style seating, making it the perfect choice for those seeking a VIP, chill vibe.
So tell me, what do you think of the new adult only Hideaway beach? Will you be paying to spend your day kid free when you visit Perfect day at Cococay?
